Changing My Mind About a Meal

Does this look like a meal to you? It didn't always to me...

Do you ever think about what makes you see food as a meal? Does it have to include certain "food groups"? Does it have to be "filling" or do you need to eat a specific amount? Does it "have to" have protein?

Try to identify your mindset around a meal. It's taken me years to overcome some of my beliefs about food and what I felt I "should" have in my diet.

Remember it doesn't have to be complicated. Eat with nature in mind, and it will share it's medicine with you.

This beautiful papaya is my meal this afternoon.

You've probably heard of all the benefits of papaya. It's especially great for digestion, and also: better immunity, cancer prevention, blood sugar regulation, anti-aging, regulations female cycle, eye health, arthritis, weight control...

Have you tried the seeds? They are strangely spicy. I never throw them away anymore. They have anti-parasite properties and can help the body rid itself of unwanted guests. (Speaking of- I have some insights from an 18 day parasite cleanse-but that's a story for another time)

For today, just consider shifting a thought about what a meal is and "has to" be.

With Love,
Lorika
